Armenia’s telecom providers pay 6.1 billion drams in taxes for quarter one
YEREVAN, April 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's three telecommunications companies - VivaCell-MTS, ArmenTel and Orange Armenia (now - Ucom), paid a total of 6.1 billion drams in various taxes for the first quarter of 2016, up from 5.9 billion drams, paid for the first quarter of 2015, according to State Revenue Committee's data, released today.
The State Revenue Committee said 5.4 billion drams were collected by tax authorities and about 747.3 million drams by customs authorities. Overall the 1000 largest taxpayers paid more than 156.5 billion drams in various taxes for the first quarter of 2016, an increase of 2.7% over the same figure for the first quarter of 2015.
ArmenTel (trading as Beeline) paid to 3.4 billion drams (5th position in the list of 1000 corporate taxpayers for the Q1, 2016), VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC) – paid 1.9 billion drams (12th place) and Orange Armenia (now Ucom) – paid more than 782.4 million drams (31st place).
ArmenTel is owned entirely by VimpelCom. It provides fixed and mobile telephony services, as well as high-speed Internet and IPTV.
VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC) is owned by Russian Mobile TeleSystems (80%) and Lebanese Fattouch Group (20%).
In September 2015 Orange Armenia, a subsidiary of France Telecom, was acquired by Ucom telecom operator ($ 1 - 479.38 drams). -0-
