D-Link to inject over $8 mln into Gyumri’s technopark- PM
YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. D-Link Company projects to inject over 8 million dollars into the technopark in Gyumri, Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said in the interview with Shant TV channel.
D-Link International company’s investments will be allocated for establishing Testing and Research Center in Gyumri. Sargsyan said that the appropriate agreement with the company has already been reached.
He reminded that 1.6 billion drams are earmarked for the construction of technopark’s new building. The ongoing construction will take another 1.5 years.
“D-Link, on its side, will open new jobs and new opportunities for small business and information technologies development,” the Prime Minister said.
He also noted that Technopark Fund, supported by top international organizations, such as D-Link, National Instruments and Microsoft, has been established in Gyumri.
“Currently there are five modern laboratories operating in Gyumri, which assist start-up business as well as small and medium-sized entrepreneurship,” the Prime Minister said.
On March 2, 2006, Armenia’s government approved the technopark program, and on April 9, 2009, - state assistance program for technopark’s operation.
Technopark mainly focuses on the following spheres : high information technologies, art, modeling, jeweler’s art and tourism. It is assumed that it will play a role of incubator for small and medium-sized business operating in scientific industry what will contribute to expanding exports of the country. --0-
