First Hackathon computer and mobile game contest to kick off in Armenia on October 3
YEREVAN, September 24. /ARKA/. Hackathon innovation and software development contest on computer and mobile games will be held in Armenia, for the first time, on October 3-5, the press office of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) reported.
The contest aims at developing 2D games by simple means (games like Flappy, Bird, Timberman). Developers’ teams are welcome to apply, and additional teams will be created from individual applicants. Game experts will be supporting teams during the contest when required.
Space Invaders, Retro, Mindblow, Overgrowth and Kombat are the thematic options for the contest. The deadline for applications is October 1.
The key meeting will be held on October 2 to introduce Hackathon contest terms to participants and to form teams from individual applicants. On October 5 visitors will get a chance to play the games and select the best developers. Among prizes are computers, tablets and smartphones. The winning game will compete of the main prize of the tournament and will participate in Casual Connect in Belgrade.
The Hackathon contest is held as part of Digitec Expo 2014 to be visited, according to some estimates, by some 30,000 people.
