Government of Armenia to fight against shadow economy by modern technology
YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. The Armenian government is going to use extensively modern electronic technologies in the fight against shadow economy, finance minister Vardan Aramyan said today during a parliamentary hearing of the next year’s draft budget.
According to him, the most effective means of combating the informal sector is the introduction of electronic technology, which provides for a full transition to electronic registration of all documentation, eliminating thus the possibility of human factor’s impact.
"This is one of the most effective mechanisms for combating the shadow sector, and we are going to implement this policy consistently by expanding the list of e-services" - Aramyan said.
The second factor that will help to fight the "shadow" economy, according to the minister is the introduction of fair rules of the game.
"Not only introduction of level playing field is important but also the political will to ensure them and mandatory accountability (of government officials) to the public", - Aramyan said. -0-
