Armenian engineers will develop tree-planting drone
YEREVAN, February 3. /ARKA/. Armenian engineers will develop a drone to plant and control forests, Deputy Minister of Environment Vardan Melikyan told reporters on Monday.
On October 16, 2019, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his government initiated a program to plant 10 million trees across the country as a sign of the unity of 10 million ethnic Armenians, believed to live in the world.
"We are exploring various options for implementing this program, including the development of a drone, that will be involved in the tree planting," Melikyan said.
According to him, at the moment, technical specifications are being developed in cooperation with the Ministry of High Technology Industry. He said the drone should be able to “shoot” seedlings into soil.
At the same time, he noted that at the moment there is no ready-made solution that would satisfy the ministry.
"We intend to apply innovative approaches not only for forest planting, but also for monitoring, which requires, among other things, engineering solutions that will allow us to use it for the widest possible range of work in the future, "Melikyan said. –0—
