Lezoo wins Beeline’s Hackathon
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. Armenian telecom operator VEON Armenia (formerly known as ArmenTel), trading as Beeline and the Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia announced the winners of a Hackathon of innovation ideas and programming, held on October 20-21 in Yerevan.
VEON Armenia said today that the Lezoo team, recognized as the winner of the contest, was awarded $3000. The team developed a solution that allows not only making a group call, but also to receive simultaneous translation of the conversation.
Iterate and Megista received each $1 thousand. A solution developed by the Iterate team allows telecommunication users to accumulate bonuses for viewing video clips and use them for payment of the call. The product of the Megista allows, based on the analysis of the customer's data, to offer him/her the most advantageous tariff plan available at a given moment.
Beeline in Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin praised the winners for doing large-scale work within 24 hours and developing really useful and interesting solutions.
In turn, the director of Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia Artashes Vardanyan noted that the teams presented many interesting solutions based on big data, many of which may become innovative and profitable products in the future and be used by telecommunication operators around the world.
In all, 40 applications were submitted, of which only 25 were selected for the competition. The goal of telecommunication Hackathon is to encourage creative young people to use the capabilities of modern technologies and offer digital and innovative solutions. --0--
