Robotics in Daily Life’ festival to be held in Yerevan as part of Digitec Expo 2014
YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. ‘Robotics in Daily Life’ festival will be held in Yerevan as part of Digitec Expo 2014, the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) reported on Wednesday.
Participants of the festival are attendees of the engineering groups formed by the union under ArmRobotics program to develop school students’ technological intellection.
This year an eco robot contest will be among Digitec Expo 2014 events. The aim of the contest is to make environment protection popular in Armenia. Anna Baronyan, the head of the program, said that development of technologies shouldn’t pollute environment, and therefore special emphasis is put on environmental problems.
“Young visitors of the festival ‘Robotics in Daily Life’ can see achievements of their peers and share impressions, and their parents can assess the opportunities provided by the engineering groups, scales of the work and decide their children’s future professional orientations,” said Karen Vardanyan, UITE executive director.
Today 60 engineering groups operate in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and competitions are regularly being held for them.
The tenth Digitec Expo 2014 will be open in Yerevan-Expo exhibition complex on October 3 to 5.
The exhibition will consist of 13 sections. Some 150 companies are expected to take part in the event. Of them, 120 will expose their products. The Digitec Expo 2014 is believed to host some 30,000 visitors.
The event is organized by the Union of Information Technology Companies. UCom is its general sponsor.
