Armenian government to conduct international audit of radio bands
YEREVAN, October 23. / ARKA /. The Government of Armenia will hold an international audit of the range of radio frequencies, the Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan said on Thursday, speaking at the parliamentary hearings on the topic: The process of digitizing broadcasting in Armenia.
Under the concept of introduction of digital broadcasting in Armenia, which is presented to the Government, all the country's television and radio will switch to digital broadcasting in 2015.
Until mid-July 2010, it is planned to complete all the legislative work. Then, until the year of 2013 will be the process of technical implementation by all market participants, and therefore providing a parallel television broadcast analog and digital broadcasts. Finally, from 2015 we will fully switch to digital broadcasting.
"The transition to digital broadcasting will allow more productive use of the available radio frequencies, and therefore there is a need to undertake a full audit of existing resources," Yeritsyan said.
He said that the audit will not only identify the available resources, but will create a program of their productive management and operation. –0-
