“ArmenTel” Increased the Capacity Of 3G Network Three Times In Yerevan And Introduced Hsupa Technology
YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. CJSC “ArmenTel” (trade mark Beeline) announces about the increase of the capacity of 3G network three times in Yerevan. Currently, average speed of descending traffic of mobile Internet within Beeline network is 3 MB/sec.
“We finished the first phase of triple increase of 3G network in Armenia. Next are the regions where activities are in process now and will be finished till the end of the year. Introduction of HSUPA technology will increase the speed of outgoing traffic from the subscriber to the operator 10 times”, said Igor Klimko, General Director of CJSC “ArmenTel”.
The company will install more than hundred base stations till the end of the year. In January 2010 “ArmenTel” announced about double increase of capacity of 3G network throughout Armenia. Maximum theoretical speed of data transfer by 3G technology is 14.4 MB/sec.
CJSC “ArmenTel” is an affiliate of the company “VimpelCom” (trade mark Beeline) since April 2007. 100% of shares of “ArmenTel” belong to Russian company. “ArmenTel” provides services of fixed and mobile services, as well as broad-band Internet access in Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
