Babukhanyan: law enforcement agencies should crack down on libelous statements in Internet
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Hayk Babukhanyan, chairman of the editorial board of Iravunk newspaper and head of journalism department at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, told ARKA News Agency that law enforcement agencies should crack down on libelous statements in Internet.
He sees no difference between insulting words written on a fence and those appearing in Internet.
“Law enforcement agencies should tackle this, since the victim can’t find the offender and sue him,” Babukhanyan said.
He said that those insulting somebody in Internet blogs, especially journalistic blogs, should answer for their statements, since journalism implies a high responsibility. -0-
