Armenia can use satellites of its strategic partner to get information: Observatory head

YEREVAN, June 3. / ARKA /. Armenia can use satellites of its strategic partner Russia to get the same kind of information that Azerbaijan will get after placing its own satellite in orbit, Hayk Harutyunyan, director of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, said today.

According to Azerbaijani media, Azerbaijani telecommunications minister Ali Abbasov will fly to Paris, France, to discuss placing of an own satellite in orbit with head of ArianeSpace company Jean-Yves Le Halley.

"The Byurakan Observatory is not able to counteract the Azerbaijani side, this should be taken care of by the state," said Harutyunyan at a press conference.

He explained that the presence of a satellite in orbit makes it easier to get information by "breaking boundaries", but this largely depends on the equipment of the satellite. -0-
