Hasmik Osipyan from Armenia recognized winner of international Olympiad in microelectronics
YEREVAN, October 12. / ARKA /. Hasmik Osipyan from Armenia was recognized the winner of the International Olympiad in Microelectronics for the second consecutive year. Second and third places went respectively to participants from Saudi Arabia and Armenia.
Representatives of Armenia were recognized as winners in the nominations "The youngest participant," "The most creative solution" and "Girl-participant with the best record."
The prize in the nomination "The best engineering solution," went to a student from Russia, and the prize for the unique participant went to a representative of Germany.
The remaining participants received encouraging prizes and awards. The participants who won the first three places were presented with laptops.
"The progress in the competition shows the growing role of Armenia as a center of microelectronics. We are honored to work with talented engineers from around the world and enable them to communicate with each other, " Synopsys CEO Armenia Rich Goldman said at the ceremony.
This year’s contest brought to Armenia 349 participants USA, China, India, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Serbia, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Forty of them reached the final, 17 were from abroad. The Olympiad is students and employees of IT companies not older than 30 years.
Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad was first held in 2006 at the initiative of Synopsys-Armenia. Synopsys Inc arrived in Armenian in October 2004. -0-
