Armenia's Agency for Personal Data Protection warns of phishing attacks via Booking.com site
YEREVAN, January 18. /ARKA/. The Agency for Personal Data Protection, an affiliation of the Armenian Ministry of Justice, has warned citizens of phishing attacks organized through Booking.com website.
"Fraudsters hack into hotel accounts on this website and send letters on behalf of the hotel to people who have made reservations. In the letters they note that there was a problem with the booking and it is necessary to confirm the data of the bank card, for which they provide a link to a fake site, the interface of which is similar to the Booking.com site", - the agencvy said in a Facebook post.
The agency calls for vigilance when receiving letters about confirmation of card details from the specified site. It said citizens should not fill in bank details on this site when clicking on the received links and should try to clarify the problem with booking in the hotel itself or on Booking.com.
"The administrators of the site are aware of the problem and are assisting their visitors," the statement said. -0-
