Armenia's NSS spent 109 million drams in 2019 to buy modern equipment to fight cybercrimes
YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. The director of Armenia's National Security Service (NSS) Eduard Martirosyan told the parliament on Friday that NSS had spent 109 million drams in 2019 to buy special equipment to combat cybercrimes.
He said over the past year the NSS worked effectively in this direction having detected a large number of cybercrimes. "I cannot say the exact figure, because they are thousands. There can be up to several attacks on servers under our protection per day, including from the enemy’s side,” he said.
The director of the NSS said that the agency is acquiring state-of-the-art technical means in stages.
“Every year we invest a lot in this area to improve our technical equipment. However, upgrades occur almost every month, and we try to purchase the latest equipment,” Martirosyan said, noting that the equipment is purchased both from Russia, Europe and the USA. ($1 - 481.71 dram). -0-
