Armenia’s state migration service launches tundarc.am (back to home) for Armenian nationals wishing to return home
YEREVAN, November 20. / ARKA /. Armenia’s State Migration Service has developed and launched an online resource at tundarc.am (back to home) to assist those Armenian citizens abroad who wish to return home, head of the agency, Gagik Yeganyan, told a news conference today. He said the information resource provides all the information regarding procedures for returning to the country. He said Armenian compatriots abroad can get answers to their questions directly from Armenian government officials. "There are several ways to obtain the necessary information. Visitors to the website may study the information on the site, log in and ask questions. In case of need, they can be redirected to the representatives of the competent government agencies," said Yeganyan. According to Yeganyan, 2,349,537 people left Armenia in January-September this year, including citizens of Armenia and tourists, and 2,258,583 entered it. The negative balance of migration is gradually decreasing, he said. Thus, in 2013 it was 31,214, down from 42,764 people in 2012. He also said that 2000 people returned to Armenia in 2014 as part of a program designed for reintegration of returnees. According to the National Statistical Service, the resident population of the country as of October 1, 2014 stood at 3,139,000 people, down 3, 200 people compared with the same period last year. -0-
