YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian Ministry of Justice has unveiled a draft law that calls for restricting access to Internet in case martial law is declared in the country. The draft law is placed for public debates on the e-draft website.
In case martial law is announced on the Armenian territory, the draft law proposes that the content broadcast on television and distributed via internet be restricted exclusively to military-patriotic films and programs as well as relevant information.
It proposes also a temporary suspension of Internet sites, social networks, and Internet applications on the territory of Armenia, as well as partial or full restriction to Internet access.
In case of restriction of Internet access, state and local self-government bodies, strategic and state-protected objects and infrastructures, as well as individual organizations will be granted access to the network.
According to the draft law, the authority to implement and apply restrictions under martial law is to be vested in Deputy Prime Minister. -0-
