Armenian Virtual College presents its first multimedia e-book - "The Armenian Highland"
YEREVAN, January 29. / ARKA /. The Armenian Virtual College (AVC) has presented on Wednesday its first multimedia e-book - "The Armenian Highland." The book is about the history and culture of Armenia,’ the founding director of AVC, Yervant Zorian, said to a news conference.
He said the book is already available in Western and Eastern Armenian languages and English at www.avc-agbu.org, as well as via App Store. Until March f 2014 the book will be available also in Russian, Turkish, French and Spanish. He said the e-book contains video and audio materials, photographs and dictionaries.
According to him, the college plans to release a series of thematic electronic books about Armenia’s history, culture, religion, economy, tourism, chess, etc.
The Armenian Virtual College is the learning institute of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). Through online education, the AVC’s focus is helping learners acquire basic knowledge in Armenian studies. It offers several certificate programs and credit-bearing courses in Armenian education at the college level.
The AVC is currently comprised of three departments – Language, History, and Culture – each of which offers several courses in varying skill levels.
In order to truly accomplish the institute’s aim to widen the reach of Armenian education worldwide, the program has been made available in seven languages: Armenian (Eastern & Western), English, Russian, French, Spanish and Turkish. To date, the college has more than 3,000 students. -0-
