ArmenTel to digitize Maralik’s fixed telephone lines
YEREVAN, September 25. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecom provider (trading as Beeline) said today it continues digitization of automatic telephone exchanges and telephony subscriber lines in the regions of Armenia. In particular, it has started modernization of the fixed telephone network of the city of Maralik in Shirak region.
After completion of the work, scheduled for October 17 this year, residents of the city will have access to high quality fixed-line telephony services and improved broadband Internet.
"Investments of Beeline in wired infrastructure continue. By upgrading the network we are trying to change the lives of our customers to the best by giving them access to a much better broadband Internet and local telephony,” ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin was quoted as saying in a press release.
The company finished digitization of the telephone network of Yerevan in 2013. As for regions, 86% of all urban and rural communities are already digitized. Beeline’s total length of the cable infrastructure in Armenia is about 13,000 km.
ArmenTel is a 100 percent subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom providing fixed and mobile telephone service and high-speed Internet. -0-
