CEO: more than 600,000 people enjoy Orange Armenia services
YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. More than 600,000 people enjoy the services provided by Orange Armenia, Francis Gelibter, CEO of the telecommunication company, said Wednesday at a news conference dedicated to its fifth anniversary.
He said that the company’s business is very successful in Armenia thanks to certain factors and pointed out affordability of its services as one of these factors.
Gelibter said that when Orange Armenia started operating five years ago, one minute of its calls cost 40 drams, on average, while now subscribers to its Eagle price plan pay 10 drams, on average, for one minute inside and outside the network (2,000 drams for 200 minutes).
The second factor is modern technologies. Orange Armenia CEO said that on one hand, it was difficult for the company to enter a market with two other mobile telecommunication operators, but on the other hand, the company could offer high-end technologies and services.
The third factor is innovations. Gelibter said that Orange Armenia offered My-Fy, My-Box and HD sound at the market.
Aram Mkrtchyan, director for communications and development of Orange Armenia brand, said that about 100,000 of its 600,000 customers are subscribers to Internet Now price plan and the remaining 500,000 use the company’s mobile telecommunication services.
Orange Armenia, fully owned by France Telecom (Orange brand), started operating in Armenia on November 5, 2009.
Now the company provides a full range of voice and data services in 600 cities and villages of Armenia, to more than 95% of the population. --0--
