E-book sales in Armenia on the rise
YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. E-book sales in Armenian are on the rise, according to Yandex.Money analysts, who came to this conclusion after having studied data on payments made by Armenia’s residents in offline and online bookstores.
From January to July 2017, those who ordered e-books were four times as many as those who bought paper books. The number of purchases in both cases was approximately the same.
Electronic books are becoming more popular in Armenia. In the first seven months of 2017, people paid three times more for such books than in the same period in 2016. One buyer, on average, made four orders. A year ago this figure was less - one purchase.
As for paper books, more and more residents of Armenia prefer to buy them on the Internet. From January to July this year, online users paid 11 times more than in offline stores. On average, every customer made two online payments for books, and one offline.
In bookshops, Armenian citizens spend on average 5,575 drams (about $11) on average, in the online stores – 8,594 drams (about $18). The smallest average check for e-books is 781 drams ($1.6).
