Kaspersky lab: 28.3% of users in Armenia attacked via the internet in first quarter of 2020
YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. In the first quarter of 2020, some 28.3% of users in Armenia were attacked via the Internet, and 33,120 related incidents were reported, according to a Kaspersky Lab study.
Over the same period in 2019, some 16.13% of users encountered such attacks, it said.
In January-March 2020, 38% of Armenian users were exposed to local threats, and the number of incidents related to these threats amounted to 626,552. A year earlier, 41% of Armenian users' computers encountered attempts of local threat infections.
"These threats penetrate the computer through infecting files or from removable media (flash drives, memory cards of cameras and phones, external hard drives) or enter the computer as part of complex installers, encrypted files, etc.," experts say.
To protect against attacks via the Internet- experts advise using a reliable antivirus with a web module.
Attackers either specifically create malicious sites, or hack legitimate resources and inject malicious scripts and software for various purposes - hidden cryptocurrency miners, ransomware downloaders, software to steal personal and bank data.
To protect against local threats, it is necessary, if possible, to refuse to work with removable media, and if necessary, check the media with a reliable antivirus. Infection is also prevented by disabling the autoload function of files from removable media. -0-
