Malware attacks on armenian mobile users drop
YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. In January-March 2020, some 1.33% of mobile device users in Armenia faced malware attacks, according to a Kaspersky Lab study.
In Georgia, 1.58% and in Azerbaijan 2.68% of mobile device users were attacked by malware in the same period of time.
In the first quarter of 2019, 2.16% of users were attacked by mobile malware in Armenia, 1.52% in Georgia and 3.12% in Azerbaijan.
In the first quarter, the company's solutions revealed 1,152,662 installation packages of mobile malware across the globe for data theft, surveillance, display and promotion of advertising and other malicious actions on a user's mobile device, up from 905,174 such packages detected a year earlier.
Experts believe that the first means of protection against mobile malware is to download applications only from trusted sources and disable the ability to install programs from third-party sources in the device’s settings.
It is also necessary to always update the system and applications to the latest versions, do not follow dubious links and do not open suspicious files in SMS, email, instant messengers, social networks and browsers. And also the best protection against all threats is a reliable antivirus software installed on the mobile device. –0--
