Online platform for placing petitions appears in Armenia
YEREVAN, September 3. /ARKA/. An online platform for placing petitions, e-petition.am, has appeared in Armenia as part of the development of an electronic governance system, Armenian Vice-Premier Tigran Avinyan said Thursday at a regular government meeting.
Avinyan said that the introduction of the system is aimed at increasing the involvement of citizens in government management.
"This is the Armenian version of the famous platform change.org. The petition is a socially significant appeal, with the help of which our citizens can make proposals for improvements in the political, economic, social and other spheres," he said.
The vice-premier noted that the platform will also provide an opportunity to correct shortcomings in the work of state and regional structures.
"The platform will allow attracting electronically individual and collective petitions, provide support to the presented initiatives and monitor the collection of signatures," Avinyan said.
He stressed that the government will closely monitor the processes taking place on the platform and pay great attention to them. -0---
