Only 0.1% of Armenian users were attacked by mobile Trojans in second quarter of 2019
YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. In the second quarter of 2019, only 0.1% of Armenian users were attacked by mobile Trojans, according to a Kaspersky Lab study. Armenia ranked 9th in the top ten countries with the largest share of users whose devices were attacked by mobile Trojans.
In Georgia 0.08% of users were attacked by mobile Trojans, and in Azerbaijan - 0.07% of users. In the first quarter of 2019, 0.23% of mobile users in Armenia were attacked by mobile Trojans (7th place), in Georgia and Azerbaijan 0.12% and 0.14% of users, respectively.
In the second quarter of 2019, 13,899 installation packages of mobile banking Trojans were discovered in the world, two times less than in the first quarter of 2019.
Experts say that cybercriminals infect mobile devices with banking Trojans to intercept bank card data and users' apps.
Experts recommend that mobile users do not give their personal and banking data to anyone, especially to those who are “asking” to do so in response to “profitable” offers. Experts also warn against downloading from unofficial sources, since banking Trojans are often downloaded in a package with other software hosted on such sites.
To protect against any Trojans and other malware, users must install a reliable antivirus on their mobile devices. --0
