Rostelecom Armenia, ArmenTel companies reach accord on how to use latter's facilities
YEREVAN, May 30. /ARKA/. Rostelecom Armenia and ArmenTel companies have reached an accord on how to use the infrastructure belonging to the latter, Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Farmazyan said Friday at a session of the state antitrust agency.
Anna Petrosyan, an expert at the agency, said Rostelecom Armenia has asked ArmenTel to lease a part of its infrastructure for expansion and has made all the payments specified in the law.
«However, ArmenTel gave Rostelecom Armenia a contract which obliged it to make also other payments totaling AMD 1.72 million a year in addition of those payments specified by the law,» she said.
Petrosyan said that Rostelecom Armenia can't get the same from other companies, since ArmenTel is the only company possessing such an infrastructure, and ArmenTel, knowing that Rostelecom Armenia has no option but to lease necessary facilities from it, tried to impose own conditions on the company and gain additional profits.
She said ArmenTel ought to satisfy request of any company that pays for that.
Earlier, ArmenTel was fined AMD 1 million for violating the rules of leasing facilities to GNC-Alfa (Rostelecom's subsidiary). ($1 – 413.37). --0---
