Users in Armenia are stopping to use services of most popular social networking services
YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. Many users in Armenia are stopping to use the services of the most popular social networking services, media expert Samvel Martirosyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said although the latest national elections (to the parliament) took place 8 months ago, the Armenian segment of social networking services remains extremely politicized as it was during the election campaign. As a result, many users leave traditional and popular sites, preferring to spend time away from politics on other sites.
According to him, because of this and "differentiation" of users on separate sites , a larger gap is beginning to emerge between different generations.
"Such differentiation leads to a loss of common interests between generations, which is fraught with the creation of an atmosphere of misunderstanding. Moreover, this trend is also dangerous for parents who in the future will not be able to trace the audience and interest groups in which their children are involved," he said.
As Martirosyan noted, political campaigning in social networking services subsided only because of the summer vacation season, and already in the fall, Armenian users will again be involved in the battles of media resources of various political forces. -0-
