Yerevan buses to offer free Wi-Fi
YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. The buses in Armenia's capital Yerevan will provide free Wi-Fi to passengers as part of reforms designed to create an online tracking system for the city’s public transport, the Yerevan Municipality announced today.
It said the city authorities have already received devices for tracking the location of public transport, which are being now installed and adjusted.
Thanks to these devices, passengers will be able to monitor the movement of buses in online mode.
Earlier it was reported that the Yerevan Municipality was working to make citizens able to track the movement of public transport online through Yandex maps.
At the moment, information about public transport in Yerevan is available on electronic Yandex-maps. Citizens can view public transportation routes and bus stops; plan trips by entering the starting and ending points or selecting them on the map; see the course of the planned route, understand how to get to the nearest stop, what means of transport to use and how long the trip will take.
In the near future it will be possible to receive online information about the location, time of arrival and route of buses; accurately calculate the time of the planned trip, taking into account traffic congestion, etc. -0-
