Yerevan hosts RIPE NCC regional conference for first time
YEREVAN, September 15. / ARKA /. The RIPE NCC (one of the five regional Internet registrar) regional telecommunication conference is taking place on Tuesday in Yerevan.
Armenian Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan, greeting participants on behalf of the government, expressed hope that the conference will be not the last event of this kind.
“Let's hope that the conference will make a certain contribution not only to development of Internet infrastructure, enhancement of its security, establishment of ties, but also to development of Internet society as a whole,” he said.
The minister said that IT sector is among the Armenian government's top-priority focuses, and all its problems are solved very quickly.
“Internet is one of important means of enhancement of the Armenian economy's efficiency,” Chshmaritysan said.
State-owned and private companies as well as telecommunication operators from Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, the United States, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Iran, Denmark and Hungary are taking part in the conference.
RIPE NCC (Fr. Réseaux IP Européens + Engl. Network Coordination Centre) is the Internet Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. The RIPE NCC allocates and registers blocks of Internet number resources to Internet service providers (ISPs) and other organizations. ----0----
