Armenian D’efekt wins regional Seedstars world contest
YEREVAN, October 2. /ARKA/. Armenian startup D'efekt has been recognized as the winner of the regional SeedStars contest and will represent the country at Seedstars World, the Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia reported.
It said D'efekt has developed a product based on artificial intelligence that allows creation of a variety of visual materials and share them. The second and third places were given to eSwap and Breedge teams.
The Yerevan stage of the international contest, held on September 29th, was organized by the Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia and SoftConstruct company.
At the international stage of the contest, the Armenian startup will be able to present its product to international investors and compete for $1 million award.
The competition was open to those startups, which are trying to solve regional problems developing stable and profitable products for the global market. The startups should be no more than two years old and have a minimum viable product and a certain number of users.
Some 48 applications were submitted for participation in the contest, but only 10 were selected for the final. They were given the opportunity to present their products to the international and local juries who evaluated the products on several criteria - team, current status, use in large markets, created value and so on. Particular attention was paid to projects in the field of health, education and services.
The general partner of the regional competition is SoftConstruct. The sponsors of the event are the Ucom telecom operator and the Swiss Embassy in Armenia. The contest was also supported by Fast, Founders' Institute Armenia and smartgate.vc. --0--
