Chessify startup to represent Armenia at Seedstars World
YEREVAN, September 26. /ARKA/. Armenia will be represented at Seedstars World Contest by Chessify Team, the press office of VivaCell-MTS Telecommunication Company reported on Monday.
According to the press release, the application developed by the startup makes it possible to take photos from tasks from manuals to phones, digitalize them and work with them.
There are also 100,000 downloads, which gave the startup a chance to present its product and struggle for $1 million.
As many as 70 applications have been received for participation in the Yerevan qualification round, and only 11 of the applicants got a chance to present their product to jurors.
The jurors’ judgment was based on particular criteria.
“Startups surprised us – products of some of them were quite conditioned and ready for entering world markets,” said Artashes Vardanyan, head of Microsoft Innovation Center. “Many have already achieved success in terms of attraction of investments and development of their products at targeted markets.”
He added that all these products were aimed at solution of global problems.
VivaCell-MTS Telecommunication Company is general partner to the Yerevan round of Seedstars.
The event has been organized under support from the Swiss embassy in Armenia and Microsoft
Innovation Center. Ameriabank is the silver partner to the event.
