Startups Denovo Sciences and Zoomerang to represent Armenia at Entrepreneurial World Cup global final
YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. The startups Denovo Sciences and Zoomerang were named the winners of the he national final of the Entrepreneurial World Cup (EWC), Telecom Armenia (trading as Beeline) said today.
It said the national final was organized by the Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center (EPIC) of the American University of Armenia (AUA).
Some 40 partners and sponsors joined the project, including Telecom Armenia. In addition to the official prize of $20,000, the two winning teams received special gifts from Telecom Armenia - the opportunity to use hosting services for two years, and the winners of the national stage were given Hiper VX 690 and Tribe Himba electric scooters.
After winning the national stage, Startups Denovo Sciences and Zoomerang will represent Armenia in the Accelerate 2 round of the Entrepreneurship World Cup Global Finals.
Telecom Armenia said that startups Robodel and MedPoint Technologies were selected as winners of the Idea Phase and Early Phase, each of which received $10,000.
Twelve teams made it to the national final from more than 100 entries for the Entrepreneurship World Cup: MedPoint Technologies, SmartClick, Revalcon, Cyber Tech, rBlock, Zoomerang (Zoom Apps), Heltun, Tactun (RAFA Solutions), Robodel, Mr. Fast, Streameal, Denovo Sciences.
The main targets for competing teams were Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Mobile Apps, Software as a Service (SAAS), Enterprise Software, Health and Prosperity.
CEO of Telecom Armenia Hayk Yesayan expressed hope that this competition and especially the victory will become an incentive for development and new victories for startups.
For his part, EPIC Director Mikhail Kuchakjyan noted that such a competition is being held in Armenia for the first time.
The 2021 Entrepreneurship World Cup Final will take place in November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Hundreds of startups will take part in the Accelerate 2 round of the Entrepreneurship World Cup for the intensive startup bootcamp to compete in the Entrepreneurship World Cup Final. –0--
