AMD 24.7 billion paid by Armenia’s mobile telecommunication and internet providers in 2017 as taxes
YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Armenia’s mobile telecommunication and internet providers transferred AMD 24.7 billion to the government budget in 2017 against AMD 31.1 billion in 2016, according to the government-affiliated State Revenue Committee’s report on the country’s 1000 largest taxpayers.
VivaCell-MTS, VEON Armenia, Ucom and Rostelecom together sent AMD 21.9 billion to the government budget as taxes and AMD 2.7 billion as customs duties.
According to the report, AMD 7.9 billion was paid as direct taxes and 9.2 billion as indirect taxes.
VivaCell-MTS sent AMD 9.1 billion as taxes in 2017 (28.9% less than a year earlier) and came 13th among the country’s 1000 biggest taxpayers.
VEON Armenia (Beeline brand) transferred AMD 8.7 billion in 2017 (29.8% less than before) to the budget and ranked 14th.
Ucom increased its contribution to the government budget by 34.6% to AMD 5.9 billion and ranked 19th.
GNC –Alfa (Rostelecom brand) increased its payment as well – it sent AMD 880.8 million to the budget in 2017 (the 163rd rank) against AMD 626.9 million in 2016.
As a whole, taxes paid by 1,000 largest taxpayers in 2017 totaled more than AMD 807.4 billion – 12.7% or by AMD 91.2 billion more than in 2016.
