Armenia may have enterprise to assemble computers

YEREVAN, September 12. / ARKA /. Speaking at a parliament Q&A session today Armenian prime minister Tigran Sargsyan said an enterprise may be set up here in several years to manufacture computers.

"We have started talks with Intel, and have agreed to sign a memorandum, under which the company commits to establish a regional center in Armenia and later a company may be set up here to assembly computers," he said.

The prime minister said negotiations with Intel continue, ‘however, if the corporation refuses to participate in this project, we will announce an international tender.”

He said this project is included in the five-year program of the government, along with a program to provide all first-graders with computers. He said to this end the government will buy 50,000 computers a year. -0-
