Armenia ranked 61st among 193 countries in UN E-Government Survey 2014
YEREVAN, June 27. /ARKA/. Armenia came 61st among 193 countries in United Nations E-Government Survey 2014: E-Government for the Future We Want, improving its rank by 33 notches, compared with 2012.
The rank in E-Government Survey 2014 is based on E-Government Development Index (EGDI), which reflects governments’ willingness and ability to use ICT for providing services to the population.
According to the report, Armenia’s EGDI is 0.5897 of 1.
Of the former Soviet republics, Estonia showed the best result and ranked 15th. Estonia is followed by Russia (27), Kazakhstan (28), Litva (29), Latvia (31), Belarus (55), Georgia (56), Moldova (66), Azerbaijan (68), Ukraine (87), Uzbekistan (100), Kyrgyzstan (101), Turkmenistan (128) and Tajikistan (129).
Korea, Australia and Singapore are topping the ranking, while Somalia, Niger and Eritrea are on its bottom.
EGDI is an arithmetic average of three general indicators of the most important aspects of e-government - Online Service Index (OSI) assesses extent and quality of online services, Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII) assesses degree of telecommunication infrastructure development and Human Capital Index (HCI) shows human capital.
Armenia’s best index was HCI – 0.7660. Its OSI was gauged at 0.6142 and its TII was estimated at 0.3889. ---0----
