Armenia's Beeline accuses orange Armenia of unfair advertising
YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. ArmenTel (Beeline brand) explained today why it has filed a complaint to Armenia’s antitrust agency about Orange Armenia CJSC accusing the latter of unfair advertising, another mobile telecommunication operator.
ArmenTel says in a press release that on June 16 Orange Armenia declared its own offer of roaming services in Russia the best price – 29 drams per one minute.
“But in fact, this information is nothing in common with the reality, since on the same day, Beeline launched its service 'On the Line +', which allows receiving and making calls to Beeline network in Armenia in roaming in Russia, Georgia and some other countries at 24.9 drams per one minute, and the same price is for one megabyte of Internet in the roaming,” the company says in its press release.
Taking into account that the ArmenTel-offered roaming was cheaper at the moment of the advertisement, the company says that Orange Armenia deluded consumers.
ArmenTel CJSC, a subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom (trading as Beeline), provides fixed and mobile telecommunication services (about 650,000 and more than 780,000 subscribers respectively) and a high-speed access to Internet. ----0---
