Armenia’s three telecoms pay 38.5 billion drams in taxes in January -September
YEREVAN, October 31. / ARKA /. Armenia’s three telecommunications companies - VivaCell-MTS, ArmenTel and Orange Armenia - paid a total of 38.5 billion drams in various taxes in January-September 2014, up from 35.8 billion drams they had paid for the same period in 2013, the State Revenue Committee said today.
According to official data, some 36.5 billion drams of that amount were collected by tax authorities and 455.5 million drams by customs authorities. Also 1.9 billion drams were collected as other taxes and duties.
VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC) paid 22.15 billion drams, ArmenTel (trading as Beeline), paid 12.8 billion drams and Orange Armenia, a subsidiary of France Telecom, paid 3.4 billion drams.
Overall, the 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid more than 504.2 billion drams in taxes, up from 479.9 billion drams paid in January-September 2013 (an increase of 5%). About 317.5 billion drams were collected by tax authorities, and about 186.7 billion drams by customs authorities.
Also about 169.5 billion drams were collected as direct taxes and 279.7 billion drams as indirect taxes (including VAT and excise tax). Also about 52.2 billion drams were collected as other taxes, duties and compulsory payments.
VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC) is owned by Russian Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) (80%), the remaining 20% belong to Lebanese Fattouch Group.
ArmenTel is a 100 percent subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom and Orange Armenia is a 100% subsidiary of France Telecom. ($ 1 - 411.74 drams) -0--
