Armenia to take part in World Robot Olympiad
YEREVAN, July 8. /ARKA/. This year Armenia will participate, for the first time, in the World Robot Olympiad - one of the largest school events in the field of robotics, AYB Education Foundation said.
AYB is the organizer of the national stage of the competition. It said the national stage will involve nine teams from various schools.
It will be held July 8 at AYB School. The winner will travel to Delhi, India, to participate in the international competition.
This year, the World Robot Olympiad is held under the motto "The fight against waste." "Robots will have to help children clear the school road, collect the garbage and place it in garbage cans, as well as perform other tasks," AYB said.
The purpose of the World Robot Olympiad is to involve school students in practical and research activities, develop their logical thinking skills and engineering capabilities, create preconditions for the development of creative abilities. The first competition was held in 2004 with the participation of 4 thousand teams from 12 countries. Today the event involves more than 21 thousand teams from 55 countries.
