Armenian Beeline’s users to access to Vimpelcom’s new messenger Veon
YEREVAN, November 25. /ARKA/. In 2017 users of Armenian Beeline telecom provider will have access to Vimpelcom’s new messenger Veon, Vimpelcom CEO Jean -Yves Charlier told Armenian journalists in Yerevan today.
Vimpelcom is represented in Armenia by ArmenTel (trading as Beeline).
According to him, the Italian telecom operator Wind, owned by a joint venture Vimpelcom Ltd and Hong Kong Hutchison, is testing its own instant messenger for its subscribers. He noted that the application has traditional features, allowing subscribers to make calls, share videos, and text messages. Users of Veon will not pay for the traffic, he said.
"We are ready to offer to our subscribers the possibility of communication, even with zero balance on their smartphones, because we believe that even with zero balance our customers should be able to send a message to their loved ones or work colleagues," - Charlier said.
ArmenTel was acquired by VimpelCom in 2007. ArmenTel provides fixed and mobile telephony services as well as high-speed Internet. -0-
