Armenian government and Microsoft sign cooperation memorandum
YEREVAN, May 26. / ARKA /. The Armenian government and Microsoft Corporation have signed today a memorandum of cooperation and interaction, following a meeting between prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Microsoft president for Central and Eastern Europe Don Grantham in Yerevan.
The document calls for strengthening of cooperation, using the potential of information technology and implementation of new joint programs, the press service of the government said.
The document stipulates establishment of a regional center for cloud and mobile solutions at the premises of the Microsoft Innovation Center.
The prime minister was said to have stressed that the development of IT industry is in the focus of the government, saying also Microsoft has its input in the 25% annual growth of the ICT sector in Armenia.
During a meeting with Armenian economy minister Karen Chshmarityan Don Grantham said that Microsoft intends to implement a number of long-term projects in Armenia.
Microsoft is collaborating with Armenia on the basis of an agreement signed in 2007 in Edinburgh (Scotland).-0-
