Armenian ICT sector’s offices opened in four countries
YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s information and communication technology sector has opened offices in four countries – the United States, France, Belgium and Bolivia- as part of Armenian Science & Technology Center (ASTC) program.
The offices were opened in accordance with the memorandum signed on February 24 between the Armenian transport, communication and information technology ministry and Technology and Science Dynamics that produces Armenian tablets and smartphones.
These offices were opened in a bid to attract foreign investments and create new jobs.
The ministry-run ASTC program implies establishment of Armenia’s ICT offices in 17 countries.
Vahan Martirosyan, Armenian transport, communication and information technology minister, said earlier that Technology and Science Dynamics would invest $3 million in establishment of offices that will represent Armenia’s ICT sector abroad.
Technology and Science Dynamics appeared at the Armenian market in 2013 – it offered the first Armenian tablet ArmTeb and the first smartphone ArmPhone to local consumers.
Later the company got registration in the country’s free economic zone and expanded its production offering its products also to foreign consumers.
According to preliminary data, more than $3 million has been invested in production of Armenian tablets. --0----
