Armenian president receives director general of Universal Postal Union International Bureau
YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, received Director General of the Universal Postal Union International Bureau Bishar Abdirahman Hussein on Monday.
Chairman of PostEurop Management Board Jean-Paul Forceville and PostEurop Secretary General Botond Szebeny arrived in Yerevan as members of the delegation headed by Bishar Abdirahman Hussein to attend a regular conference of the PostEurop, the association of European public postal operators, on April 20 and 21.
Welcoming the guests, Sargsyan stressed the importance of the part the Universal Postal Union plays in development of global communications.
He said that Armenia’s membership in the union is in its 25th year now, and that the country’s membership in the union has contributed a great deal to modernization of its postal services.
Bishar Abdirahman Hussein thanked Sargsyan for hospitability. He presented the aim of the conference and the mission of the delegation headed by him and spoke about cooperation with Haypost, Armenia’s postal operator, saying that the union is ready to continue supporting the Armenian national postal operator and contributing to its development. ---0----
