Armenian websites managed to resist Azerbaijani and Turkish hacker attacks
YEREVAN, April 27. / ARKA /. Armenian websites managed to resist attacks by Azerbaijani and Turkish hackers in connection with the centennial of the Armenian genocide, cyber security expert Samvel Martirosyan told a news conference today.
According to him, the attacks in cyberspace were not as strong as they had expected, despite a lot of efforts made by Turkish and Azerbaijani hacker groups. He said in the past few days Azerbaijani hackers broke dozens of Armenian sites, most of which are not particularly popular.
According to him, the largest attack was aimed at the official website of the 100th anniversary of the genocide which experienced some difficulties, but, fortunately, all the problems were eliminated quickly.
He brushed off allegations by a Turkish hacker group that it had managed to disable a number of Armenian sites, including the official websites of the ministries of defense and foreign affairs. "Personally, I do not believe in the veracity of these reports, because no problems were reported or observed concerning these two websites,’ said Martirosyan.
He said on the other hand Armenian hacker groups were very active in the last few days having broken about 1000 Turkish sites.
"In general, Armenian hacker groups appeared to be more active and massive in the cyber space than Turkish or Azerbaijani groups. Huge efforts were exerted to ensure normal operation of the Armenian sites,’ he said.-0-
