ArmenTel and Child Development Foundation launch 'the Power of Children's Words' program
YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. ArmenTel telecom operator (trading as Beeline) and the Child Development Foundation (CDF) of Armenia have announced today the launch of a social program - "The Power of the Children's Words," designed to help children and adolescents develop their creative abilities, critical and alternative thinking by using the latest technologies.
It is also intended to raise the awareness among parents and community residents about the welfare of children. As part of the project a tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed to stimulate the process of Beeline’s cooperation with the Child Development Foundation and local authorities in the field of child protection.
"We welcome and attach great importance to the implementation of programs that help children and young people change their lives for the better. Conditions for education and development should be the same for each child, because the children are the guarantee for the development of the community and the future of the state. The most important projects for us are those that use modern digital technology in helping the younger generation to build their future, "- ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin said.
Lusine Simonyan, the director of the Child Development Foundation, said that cooperation with Beeline expands, making more and more positive changes in the lives of children of Armenia.
The project started in the community of Nor Kharberd of Ararat province by a number of activities to raise public awareness. It will be implemented in Nor Kharberd, Ayntap, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Ijevan and Dilijan.
Beeline and the Child Development Foundation have been implementing joint social programs since 2011. Together they established the inclusive children's theater troupe "We" and conducted also art therapy courses that help these children integrate into society. They launched a new hotline -0-8000-1007, designed for parents seeking professional consultation, information or advice concerning their children. The initiative is supposed to improve protection of children’s rights through the provision of information and prompt response.
ArmenTel, owned by VimpelCom provides fixed and mobile telephony services, high-speed Internet and IPTV.
The Child Development Foundation (CDF) was established in September 2009. Before that, since 2002 the Foundation operated as a Child Development Centre (CDC) within World Vision Armenia’s Inclusive Education Project.
Today, the CDF contributes to the protection of child rights, promotes children’s healthy development and inclusion of vulnerable groups into society. The Foundation actively provides professional services to support vulnerable children and their families, works to enrich the methodology by developing various useful resources for parents, children, specialists and educators working with children. -0-
