ArmenTel and Children of Armenia Fund launch ‘agricultural school’ project in Armavir region
YEREVAN, April 9. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecommunications company (trading as Beeline) and the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) launched the ‘Agricultural School’ project in Armavir region, ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin said today.
He said the project is part of Beeline’s global strategy ‘Make Your Mark" and will be implemented in four stages: development of curriculum and construction of greenhouses, theoretical and practical trainings, exchange of experience with high school student from other regions, marketing and products sale through Internet platforms. The project will embrace 235 high school student of Armavir region.
"I'm very happy to speak about joining the project "Make Your Mark.’ The "agricultural school" is the first project of this strategy we are going to implement to arm young people with skills, knowledge and ability to create their own businesses and most importantly, learn how to sell their products by using the latest technology," Pyatakhin is quoted as saying in a press release.
He also highlighted the fact that the project will be carried out outside the capital involving more than 200 children and teenagers from the Armavir region.
The executive director of COAF Anush Yedigaryan noted that the project will help students acquire farming business skills and learn from an early age to accurately assess the market, to grow competitive varieties of fruits and vegetables, and also to correctly position the products on the market by using the knowledge and best practices in the field of marketing.
ArmenTel is owned fully by VimpelCom. It provides fixed and mobile telephony and also high-speed Internet.
