Armentel begins accepting applications for Eurasia mobile challenge innovation competition
YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. Armenia-based ArmenTel telecommunications company (trading as Beeline) said today it is accepting applications for the Eurasian stage of the international competition Eurasia Mobile Challenge Innovation.
According to an ArmenTel press release, the purpose of the competition is to inspire young professionals to search for new world-changing digital-solutions.
Eurasia Mobile Challenge Innovation is the initiative of VimpelCom Ltd - an international company specializing in the field of communications and technology, and committed to the idea of opening the digital world of opportunity to each client.
For the second year in a row Eurasia Mobile Challenge has been supporting the social initiative of VimpelCom Ltd called ‘Make Your Mark’, by providing development opportunities to young people, regardless of their technical skills, and by helping them to shape the future and stimulate economic growth in their respective countries and at the regional level.
The Eurasian championship of mobile products is one of the stages of the larger world competition Global Mobile Challenge for developers and startups with the finale to be held in Barcelona, Spain. The competition is designed for young people, entrepreneurs and startups that can offer a concept or a ready prototype in digital, mobile financial solutions, big data, cloud and M2M solutions, as well as applications developed to solve social problems.
The competition is open to entrepreneurs from Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. During regional stages of the competition, each participant will be able to test and refine their concepts during a series of workshops, master classes and pitch sessions with the participation of local and international experts and mentors to help turn their ideas into finished mobile solutions. Projects will be evaluated by IT experts by such criteria as the quality of innovation, relevance to the local community, scalability and originality.
Each participating country will host the local phase of the championship, in which contestants will compete with rivals from their country. Twenty-four teams (3 from each country) will be invited to the finals of the regional stage. Three winners of the regional finals will receive cash prizes and the chance to continue the fight in the global finals, which will take place at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.
