ArmenTel most eco-friendly company – Union of Employers of Armenia
YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. ArmenTel company (trading as Beeline) has been awarded a certificate for best experience in supporting the green economy and for its “green” projects, the company’s press office reported. The certificate is issued by the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) based on 12 assessment criteria, including environmental protection, code of social and business conduct, ISO certification on storage and processing of industrial waste, approach to the paying of environmental fees, implementation of educational programs, and etc. Efficient use of resources, electricity savings and good management are important components of “green” economy. Polls and assessments by the RUEA showed Beeline policies are exemplary especially in efficient use of resources. The respective experience of the company is recognized the best as it can be used by small and midsized enterprises. Apart from this, this experience allows to optimize use of natural resources and to raise public awareness of the current environmental challenges. “I congratulate Beeline and express gratitude for responsible operations”, president of the RUEA Gagik Makaryan said. General director of Beeline Armenia Andrey Pyatakhin, in his turn, said the company remains focused on projects with an environmental component and thanked the RUEA for the award, “Beeline will continue implementing programs that help make life better and create favorable conditions for future generations”, Pyatakhin said. Beeline was acknowledged the leading telecommunication operator by National Trust council in 2014. In 2012, the company was said to have the highest corporate environmental responsibility and has implemented over 30 ecological projects since then. ArmenTel is a subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom. It provides fixed and mobile telephony services as well as high-speed Internet in Armenia.–0--
