Azerbaijan has no necessary resources for carrying out cyber attacks
YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan has no necessary resources for carrying out cyber attacks on Armenia's information field, Samvel Martirosyan, a cyber security specialist, told journalists on Monday.
«Not a single Armenian website has been hacked by Azerbaijanis so far, since they have no a special group of hackers for that,» he said. «In such cases they are always using hired hackers from Russia or Ukraine. Now a group of Turkish hackers joined them, but their attempts will fail. On April 24, 2015, their cyber attacks failed.»
Successful were only their assaults on news and official agency's websites. Their only success was failure of servers aimed at preventing websites or computer systems from functioning.
«Such attacks are made by false visits to websites - too many users on websites slow down their operation and affect loading,» Martirosyan said.
In his words, such attacks were made by both Azerbaijani and Armenian sides.
In his opinion, Armenia is in a more advantageous state in information field than Azerbaijan.
«The first reaction of Azerbaijani media was well-thought out – this was an information support, but they were not prepared for withdrawal of Azerbaijani army, and therefore their readiness was short-run,» he said. «Very soon they began denying Armenian media's information and released their false news about unilateral cease-fire action.»
Commenting on the current situation in social networks, Martirosyan called it panic.
«I think active Azerbaijani users of social networks are local secret services and cyber activists who pursue two goals – to learn things by using false accounts and to spread false information to panic people.»
Martirosyan called on users to read news only on reliable sources.
«I advise you not to read unknown sources, not to spread unverified information and not to click on headlines-traps,» he said. «Remember – there are pure manipulations.» ---0---
