Beeline and Children Development Foundation conduct refresher courses for provincial school teachers

YEREVAN, October 30. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecommunications company (trading as Beeline) and the Children Development Foundation conducted a series of refresher courses for provincial school teachers as part of 'Knowledge for the Sake of Prosperity' program.

The courses embraced teachers from schools in Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor provinces, which have Beeline's corners for children's inclusive development.

The focus in the refresher courses was the essence of inclusive education, learning games and materials, as well as on how to use them in work with children with developmental disabilities, ArmenTel said in a press release.

According to ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin, there are 10 Beeline's corners for children's inclusive development' opened in concert with the Children Development Foundation in Yerevan and regions.

"Highly qualified professionals in these institutions is the key to successful implementation of the inclusive education across the country. That is why we pay special attention to training of teachers,' Pyatakhin said.

Lusine Simonyan, the director of the Children Development Foundation, said this kind of cooperation, helps regional teachers to raise the level of their skills.

"This program is another opportunity to support teachers working in the field of child protection in the regions," she said.

Beeline and the Children Development Foundation have been implementing joint social programs since 2011. Together they established the inclusive children's theater troupe "We" and conducted also art therapy courses that help these children integrate into society.

Earlier this year they a new hotline -0-8000-1007, designed for parents seeking professional consultation, information or advice concerning their children. The initiative is supposed to improve protection of children’s rights through the provision of information and prompt response.
