Beeline helps conduct first Armenia Art Fair
YEREVAN, May 10. /ARKA/. The first annual Armenia Art Fair will be held in Yerevan from May 12 to May 14 with the support of Veon telecom operator (trading as Beeline). The purpose of the exhibition is to create a centralized art market in Armenia, to promote the exchange of ideas and establish business relations with other countries, Veon Armenia said in a press release today.
The art fair will feature works of modern painting, sculpture, video art, installations and photography from Armenia, former Soviet Union republics, Great Britain, Lebanon, Syria and the UAE.
On the sidelines of the event a round table will be held on May 12 to look into the potential of visual media. Another one will be organized on May 13 to discuss the shifting of aspects in art from local to global.
Among key speakers are the rector of the American University of Armenia, Dr. Randall Rhodes, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art Gevorg Sholkhamer, art critic Nazareth Karoyan, co-founder of the Laboratory of Arts and Culture Studies Suzanne Gyulamiryan and others.
"For centuries, art has been seeking to unite people and make their lives better. These two missions are close to us, and we hope that this exhibition will stimulate the development of art in Armenia, enable Armenian artists to establish contacts with foreign experts and expand their creative opportunities," Beeline's CEO in Armenia, Andrey Pyatakhin said.
According to the co-founder of Armenia Art Fair Nina Festekjyan, the main task is to stimulate artistic investments in Armenia to contribute to the development of art education, and also help a new talented generation to present their works at the exhibition for sale.
The priority tasks of the Armenia Art Fair include the creation of a platform for art in Armenia and the region. The general sponsor of the exhibition is Beeline in Armenia.
