Beeline to donate over 1000 WI-FI devices to Armath engineering labs
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. ArmenTel telecom operator (trading as Beeline) will donate more than 1000 WiFi-devices to students of Armath engineering laboratories across Armenia. ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin told a news conference today that thanks to these devices the students will have the opportunity to solve engineering problems and create freely.
Pyatakhin also noted that modern technologies, education and support for the younger generation are the three main directions of the company's corporate social policy.
"I am very glad that this program includes all the three elements, and I am confident that the devices will help the students of the Armath laboratories develop their professional skills and change their lives for the better," he said.
Karen Vardanyan, the executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), handling the Armath educational program, noted that this donation will significantly contribute to the educational process of the students. According to him, children, by modifying these devices or using their separate parts, will be able to solve various problems of electrical engineering.
Engineering laboratories, first launched in 2014 are designed for school children of 5-12 grades. In 5-6 years they are likely to become mandatory for all school children to teach them programming, robotics and 3D-modeling. In a couple of years the number of engineering labs across the country is expected to surge to 1,200.
The main goal of UITE is to form engineering thinking in children, starting from school age, and also to provide an opportunity to all schoolchildren in Armenia to receive modern engineering education. There are now about 200 Armath engineering laboratories in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), embracing more than 4,500 students. -0-
